Planning for Growth in Uncertain Times
The Bridgewater Hall
Friday 6 June 2019

Friday last saw 150+ clients and contacts come together in the Bridgewater Hall for an exclusive, invitation-only, half day Planning Briefing, chaired by Gary Halman of the Manchester Planning Team.

The keynote address was given by Lord Kerslake, former Permanent Secretary at DCLG and latterly Head of the Civil Service.  Leading planning experts and practitioners: Nick Walkley, Chief Executive, Homes England; Steve Quartermain CBE, Chief Planner, MHCLG; Morag Ellis QC, Francis Taylor Building Chambers; Paul Dennett, City Mayor of Salford; Andrew Whitaker, Home Builders Federation, provided a thought-provoking and stimulating look at ‘planning for growth in uncertain times’.   You can download the presentations here. For the closing item on the programme, Gary was joined on stage for an ‘in conversation’ discussion with Nick Johnston, Market Operations Ltd., the mastermind behind the success of Altrincham Market, and Mackie Mayor in Manchester.

Gary said of the event “What a fascinating morning, we really covered some ground, from BREXIT, infrastructure and affordability, to partnerships, placemaking and people.  We’ve had great feedback from those that attended.”
