Acting on behalf of Rawdon Property Group, HOW Planning has successfully secured full planning approval for the redevelopment of a 3.25ha allocated site in Ulverston. The site will be transformed into an extensive employment-led, mixed use development.

The application for Beehive Business Park was submitted to South Lakeland District Council which approved the plans for a premium employment location that will deliver wide ranging benefits including securing over 300 jobs.

Planning permission has been granted for the erection of employment units; 2 retail foodstore units, for occupiers Aldi and a Marks & Spencer Food Hall; a veterinary practice unit; and the creation of new internal roads and car parking areas as well as new landscaping.

HOW carried out an extensive pre-application consultation exercise with the local community and South Lakeland District Council for the scheme, which is just off the A590 and located adjacent to Cumbria County Council’s new ‘Blue Light Hub’. The site comprises part allocated employment land which is also home to the Hub, and an additional portion of unallocated land which has been secured to maximise the opportunities for employment.

HOW provided planning and environmental consultancy services.
