Plans Approved for New Homes
Acting on behalf of Dovetail Land & Developments and Stafford & Rural Homes, HOW Planning has successfully secured planning for a new 100% affordable housing development in Highfields near Stafford town centre.
The brownfield site is currently occupied by a derelict pubic house which has been empty for some time and is in a deteriorating condition. It is located within in a local centre and surrounded by existing residential properties. Planning permission includes demolition of the existing buildings and construction of 32 new dwelling; 18 apartments and 14, three – four bed homes.
Says Rhian Harris, Planner at HOW Planning: “It is our client’s vision is to create a high quality, affordable housing development, which will complement the existing surroundings. The site is surrounded by established residential areas which will benefit from plans to replace the derelict pub with a new housing scheme.”
Plans incorporate the construction of the new homes with associated access, car parking and surrounding landscaping. The site is well served by public transport with Stafford town centre also within easy walking distance.
John Stainton from Dovetail Land & Developments adds: “The new homes outlined in our proposal will add to the local housing supply helping to support local businesses and services. Approval of the planning application enables Stafford & Rural Homes to progress with the scheme and move the development to the next stage.”
