Plans Approved for Legacy Housing Development
HOW Planning has secured full planning consent for a residential development on land at Home Farm in Skelton, North Yorkshire. The plans will transform the site, which is owned by Wharton Estates, into a high-quality residential development intended to leave a lasting legacy in Skelton.
The development will be built to the highest quality standards and incorporates a generous amount of public open space and landscaping.
Says Matthew Robinson, Senior Planner at HOW Planning: “This is an excellent scheme which will transform what is currently a vacant and under-used site into an attractive new development. We have been working closely with our client to ensure the plans met with all expectations and ambitions for the area and this announcement will enable Wharton Estates to progress with the scheme and ensure this legacy development becomes a reality.”
The 1.6ha site is located in the centre of Skelton and is currently occupied by a number of derelict farm buildings which no longer serve an agricultural purpose. Plans will see the redevelopment of the site to provide 47 new homes built to the highest standards with access, parking, landscaping, open space and associated infrastructure. It will contribute positively to the character of the area and has been welcomed by the local community as an attractive addition to the area.
