New Life for Former Nightclub
Having stood empty for over ten years, HOW Planning is helping to breathe new life into the former Yesterdays nightclub site in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, with planning approval for a new residential development.
Acting on behalf of Intro Developments Ltd, HOW submitted a full planning application to Cheshire East Council to demolish the existing nightclub building and build up to 12 new homes on the 1.67ha site. The plans, which were unanimously approved, will rejuvenate the vacant site which has remained unused since Yesterdays nightclub, restaurant and bar closed its doors in 2004.
Says Richard Woodford, Partner at HOW Planning: “The Yesterdays nightclub site has been vacant for many years and is now a derelict, unsightly piece of land situated in the Green Belt. Our client’s vision will transform the site and create a stunning new contemporary residential development for Alderley Edge.”
The application includes up to 12 new homes, including 4 affordable dwellings, each with parking, gardens and landscaping. The highly sustainable scheme has been specifically designed to make a positive contribution to the character of the area and will provide much needed new affordable housing for Alderley Edge, contributing towards the Council’s delivery of 5 year housing land.
