New Affordable Homes Planned for Ashton
HOW Planning has submitted an outline application for 51 affordable housing units on behalf of Dovetail Land and Development and Rock Asset Management on a brownfield site in Ashton-under-Lyne.
The former employment site has been vacant for some time and is bordered by existing residential accommodation. The application, which has been submitted to Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, proposes the development of additional housing to compliment the surrounding area, and if given the go ahead will be developed by New Charter Housing Association.
Says Rhian Harris, Planner at HOW Planning: “Housing supply is high on the agenda with all councils and Tameside is no exception. We have worked closely with our clients and New Charter Housing Association to ensure the plans for the scheme will not only create much needed new housing, but homes which are suited to the needs of the local area.”
The proposed development is located on Ryecroft Street in Ashton and will include a 51 residential units in a mix of apartments and new houses.
