HOW Works With Kingmoor Park Properties
Working on behalf of Kingmoor Park Properties HOW Planning has submitted an outline planning application for an extensive residential development in Leigh, Greater Manchester.
Bridgewater Business Park has had planning approval in place for a mixed employment/residential scheme over the past 3 years, but during this time has attracted very little interest from business operators and potential residential developers have expressed a preference for a solely residential development.
The site is no longer considered suitable for employment use and suffers from several empty and unused/derelict buildings. The new plans aim to rejuvenate the area with the construction of up to 424 new homes.
Says Richard Barton, Associate at HOW Planning: “There has been quite a lot of interest shown in the redevelopment of Bridgewater Business Park into a residential scheme, but house builders are reluctant to get involved whilst it is still classed as a mixed use site. We are hoping to secure a change of use in principle to entirely residential which we believe will help kick start development at what is currently an underutilised piece of land, but one with huge potential.”
