Fresh Coffee Brewing in Bradford
Manchester based HOW Planning has submitted a full planning application on behalf of Canal Road Urban Village Ltd (CRUVL), a joint venture delivery partnership company established by Bradford Metropolitan District Council and Urbo Regeneration. The proposals seek approval for a new coffee shop with drive-through facility on Stanley Road in Bradford, for operators Costa Coffee.
The proposed site sits within the New Bolton Woods Masterplan area; a key regeneration project in the Yorkshire city, and the plans for the new Costa Coffee shop mark the latest stage in the delivery of the new Local Centre, which will serve the new residential population created by the wider scheme.
Original plans for the Local Centre as part of the Masterplan, were approved in full in 2015 and comprised a new foodstore, a 10,000sq ft retail unit, and a drive-through restaurant along with all associated car parking, access, landscaping and infrastructure.
The wider New Bolton Woods scheme includes planning permission for up to 1000 new homes and a variety of additional community facilities including a care home, primary school, creche/nursery, leisure uses, health centre, petrol station, 3G sports pitch and open space.
Says Rachel Jones, Planner at HOW Planning: “This is another exciting development that forms an important part of the wider regeneration scheme. The plans that have been submitted are in line with the aspirations for New Bolton Woods and we are looking forward to a positive outcome for the application, so that residents can enjoy a new leisure facility which will be a benefit to the area as a whole.”
The application, which has been submitted in detailed form, includes the erection of a 167 sq m coffee shop with drive-through facility, external seating, car parking and cycle spaces as well as all means of access.
