Detailed Plans in for Prescot Site
Acting on behalf of Taylor Wimpey, HOW Planning has submitted a reserved matters planning application for a new housing development in Prescot, Merseyside.
The application for 173 new homes, which will be built on land at the former Prysmian Cables site at Carr Lane, has been submitted to Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council and is part of a wider mixed-use scheme which was approved in outline in late 2016.
Says Emma Williams, Planner at HOW Planning: “Taylor Wimpey deliver schemes which have a strong regional identity and which meet local housing needs and we are confident that this scheme will prove to be a similarly successful development. If given the go-ahead this phase of residential development will be delivered very quickly, providing much needed new homes for the local area.”
The 4.83 ha site is situated in a sustainable location to the South West of Prescot and forms part of a wider area which previously contained a series of buildings associated with a former cable manufacturing complex. Outline approval for the wider scheme comprises a total of up to 750 new homes and up to 929sq m of commercial/industrial buildings. The site has now been cleared and the roads constructed, which will service the new homes.
There is a range of local amenities and facilities, including recreational facilities and local shops located within close proximity to the site which provide opportunities for residents to easily travel to and from the site and support the wider urban area.
