King Street Plans Approved

Having submitted a full planning application and listed building application on behalf of the Huron Properties Ltd, HOW Planning secured approval for the redevelopment of office space at 8 King Street, a Grade II listed building within the St Ann Square Conservation Area .

The approval paves the way for a major refurbishment of the building which will include the full scale conversion of the upper floors from offices into 21, high specification apartments comprising 7 one bed and 14 two bed units.

The building currently comprises vacant offices which are situated above established retailers including Jaeger, L’Occitane and a number of local, independent retailers which will be unaffected by the development. The scheme will not only transform the existing premises, but will also help protect the vitality of a city centre listed building ensuring its continued beneficial use.

HOW has been able to draw on its extensive heritage experience and comprehensive knowledge of Manchester City centre to ensure the proposals for 8 King Street met national and local planning requirements in order to deliver the highest quality development.
