Expansion at Kingmoor Park

Acting on behalf of Kingmoor Park Properties Ltd (KPPL), HOW Planning developed a strategy to get a 37.5 ha Greenfield site allocated for employment development in the Carlisle Local Plan as an extension to the Kingmoor Park. Part of the land is now identified as a regional investment site.

Collectively the site extends to 198.5 ha, and having secured the allocation for development, HOW promoted a planning application and won permission for over 90,000 sq m of employment space, on land known as Brunthill.

Investment to date amounts to over £20m which has been used to transform the first phase of this ex MOD site into one of the largest industrial estates in the county with existing occupiers including Capita, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, GeoPost and DHL.

HOW has subsequently secured detailed planning approval for a 28,800 sq m distribution base for a leading logistics company who will be the first occupiers at the newly extended Kingmoor Park.

The Park continues to go from strength to strength and forms the backbone of Carlise’s employment offer. HOW continues to advise Kingmoor in relation to exciting new development opportunities at the Park and on its various other land holdings.
