Access for New Housing Won on Appeal

Having secured detailed planning approval from Cheshire West and Chester Council for a new housing development on a 2.7 ha site in Goostrey, HOW Planning was successful in securing approval on appeal for access to the site.

Acting on behalf of Boor Homes, HOW Planning initially submitted applications to the two neighbouring Cheshire councils as the site spanned the boundary. Cheshire East initially refused planning permission, ultimately denying access to the site, but approval on appeal ensured the development could proceed. Bloor Homes plan to build 38 new homes including 30% affordable housing.

The site, which is located on New Platt Lane in Goostrey and was previously home to a chicken farm, had fallen into a state of disrepair since operation ceased on site and planning approval for both elements of the scheme ensures transformation can get underway.

Bloor Home’s development will transform a redundant site into an attractive residential development which will provide high quality new homes, complementing the existing surroundings and enhancing the local community.
